PAYMENT FEE CALCULATOR

How much of an invoice do you actually keep?

Compare what each online payment method costs on an invoice, and what lands in your account after fees.

Letting clients pay online gets you paid faster, but every payment method costs something different. Enter an invoice amount above to compare the processing fee per method, Billebly's platform fee, and exactly what lands in your account.

How to read the results

  • Client pays: what your client is charged. Normally the invoice amount; higher if you've chosen to pass Billebly's platform fee on to the client.
  • Processing fee: the payment provider's cost for that method, usually a percentage plus a small fixed amount. Bank-based methods like iDEAL or SEPA Direct Debit are often a flat fee, which makes them much cheaper on large invoices than cards.
  • Billebly fee: Billebly's own fee on payments it processes. There's no subscription and no fee on invoices your client pays some other way.
  • You receive: what's paid out to your bank account.

Tips to keep fees down

  • Offer a bank method for larger invoices. A €2,000 invoice can cost several times more by card than by iDEAL or SEPA.
  • Let clients choose. Clients who can pay the way they prefer pay sooner; the cheapest method isn't worth a three-week delay.
  • Decide who pays the platform fee. In Billebly you can absorb it or add it to the client's total, per business.

The figures are estimates from published standard rates. The real processing fee depends on things like the card's country and type, and in Billebly it's always taken from the actual transaction, never estimated. See pricing for how Billebly's fee works.
