This policy is part of our Terms of Service and explains what you can and can't use Billebly for. Payments on Billebly are processed by Stripe, and every business we invoice on behalf of ultimately has to be one Stripe is willing to process payments for too, so this policy is built directly on top of Stripe's own rules, not a separate, conflicting one.
Stripe's list controls
Stripe maintains the authoritative Prohibited & Restricted Businesses List, which changes over time. We link to it rather than copy it so you're always looking at the current version. If your business, or what you're invoicing for, appears on that list, you can't use Billebly's payment features for it, regardless of anything below.
Examples of what's not allowed (illustrative, not exhaustive)
- Illegal goods or services under any law that applies to you or your client
- Weapons, ammunition, or explosives
- Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia
- Counterfeit or unauthorized goods
- Multi-level marketing and pyramid-style schemes
- Unlicensed money transmission, gambling, or lending
- Adult content or services
- Anything else on Stripe's Prohibited & Restricted Businesses List
This list is deliberately short and illustrative. Stripe's own list is longer, more specific, and controls in case of any difference.
Also not allowed, regardless of Stripe's list
- Misrepresenting your business, industry, or the goods/services you invoice for, to us or to Stripe.
- Using Billebly to invoice for a transaction that didn't happen, or to move funds unrelated to a real sale of goods or services.
- Attempting to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service (including via automated means) in a way that could disrupt it for other users.
- Using the Service to violate any applicable law, including tax and consumer-protection law that applies to your business.
What happens if you don't comply
We can warn you, remove content, suspend payment features, or close your account if we reasonably believe you've violated this policy. Stripe can independently restrict or terminate your connected account directly, regardless of anything we do. If Stripe does that, your ability to accept payments through Billebly ends too, since we don't operate payments independently of Stripe. You're responsible for any loss this causes you, and you agree to indemnify us as described in our Terms of Service.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
