We kept watching freelancers, coaches, and consultants around us do the same thing: sign up for a full accounting suite just to send a handful of invoices a month, then abandon half its features because they never needed a general ledger or tax reports in the first place.
Billebly started because sending an invoice as a freelancer shouldn't require learning a full accounting platform. We wanted something that covers clients, invoices, time tracking, and getting paid, and stops there.
We're building this in the open with a small group of design partners and keeping the core product free, because billing tools shouldn't be the reason a solo consultant hesitates to send their first invoice.
