Invoicing software for freelancers

A one-off invoice is easy. Billing the same clients every month is where it gets tedious: retyping their details, working out the next invoice number, copying hours out of a timesheet, and remembering who still hasn't paid. A free Billebly account handles that part, so each invoice takes a couple of minutes instead of an afternoon of admin.

What an account does that a one-off invoice doesn't

• Clients saved once. Add a client's details the first time you bill them, then pick them from your client list on every invoice after that.
• Hours become line items. Time tracked against a client or project goes straight onto the invoice, with no timesheet to copy from.
• Numbering and due dates handled. Every invoice is numbered automatically, and payment terms you set once show up on every invoice.
• A payment link on every invoice. Clients pay by card, bank transfer, or another method you've enabled, from a hosted page. No account needed on their side.
• Due-date and overdue reminders. Billebly nudges clients automatically, so you're not the one deciding when to chase.
• One view of what's paid. A dashboard shows what's paid, pending, or overdue across every client, and invoices move to "paid" on their own.
• EU e-invoicing included. Every invoice also goes out as an EN 16931 UBL e-invoice next to the PDF.

How it works

1. Add a client once, or pick one you've already billed
2. Add line items: fixed amounts, or hours logged against that client
3. Send it; the client gets an email with a link to view and pay the invoice
4. It moves to "paid" on its own once they pay

Retainer clients can go on a schedule instead: set up recurring invoices once and they go out and get charged automatically.

What it costs

The account is free, with no subscription and no plan tiers. Billebly takes a small 0.5% fee on payments actually processed through the platform, on top of the payment processor's own fee; nothing if a client pays you another way. See pricing for a worked example.
